For bulk orders, do we have to take delivery of all books at once?
We deliver just what you need, when you need it. We hold inventory free of charge, or for staged product releases, we may print on a just-in-time basis. (We figure pricing on the total order, however, to give you the best price.)
What are your terms?
For bulk and custom orders, we require a deposit of 50%, with the balance due within 30 days of delivery. For large orders, staged over the course of a year or so, we will work with you to spread payments, timed to deliveries. As you would expect, we cannot give refunds on custom orders, nor on any unfilled orders of any kind, once they’ve gone to print.
How do you price custom orders?
After we meet to learn your needs, you will receive a proposed work plan with an estimate of timing and costs, including any print set-up charges that may be incurred.
May we supply our own content and designs?
As you can tell from our products, Safe & Sound books have a distinct look and feel, with many unique and proprietary features. More importantly, Safe & Sound books have content specially written to promote health literacy. We do our best to transform all information and other resources you want to include in your custom Safe & Sound Books to fit our internal guidelines for literacy and functionality.
Do you provide any other support services?
Yes, the author, Karen Curtiss, is available to speak at conferences and meetings, or other special events. We also offer workshops for nurses, health care advocates, doctors, patient safety officers, risk managers, human resources and benefits managers, and consumers of all kinds. All presentations are tailored to the audience and sponsors’ goals. We do not participate in presentations, however, requiring our endorsement for any particular product or service — no matter how great it is.
Are Safe & Sound books available in e-formats? Safe & Sound in the Hospital is currently being programmed for the IPad.
Do you take author submissions?
Yes, we do! In fact, if you’ve already written a health care book and can’t seem to get traction in your sales, we would love to talk to you about combining your content with our marketing model and reach.
On the flip side, if you haven’t written a book yet, but you share our mission to arm “everyday” people with life-saving health care information — and you love to dig for information — drop us a note below with details about your expertise and interests.
Unfortunately, we can’t take any submission information over the phone, or even by mail. Also, we can’t consider any material that is not health care related.
